David Searle is a DBS checked and DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and also a member of the ADINJC (ADI National Joint Council) and the Institute of Advanced Motorists. David offers driving lessons and courses to complete novices getting behind the steering wheel for the very first time, more experienced learners who have already had a number of driving lessons and drivers who have a full licence but are looking to improve their driving, confidence and safety. All driving lessons and courses are tailored to suit the individual pupil so you will be taught at a pace that suits you. David teaches with a calm and patient manner which puts even the most nervous pupils at ease very quickly.
If 9 driving lessons are booked and paid for in advance, the 10th lesson is given free. Please note that the advance payment of 9 lessons is non-refundable.
David does not charge extra for weekends, evenings or Bank Holidays. If a driving lesson is cancelled after 1pm on the day before the scheduled lesson, then you will be charged the full amount.
New Driver Lessons
In order to take driving lessons new drivers need to have a provisional licence. To apply for a provisional driving licence you must:
- be at least 16 years and 9 months old
- be able to read a number plate from 20 metres away
- provide addresses where you have lived over the last 3 years
- pay £34 to the DVLA by MasterCard, Visa, Electron, Maestro or Delta debit or credit card
- have your National Insurance number if known

David starts new learner drivers on off-street areas in order to concentrate on getting familiar with the car and its controls without the worry of other road users around them before going on to the main roads.
You will be driving in a manual VW Polo (petrol engine), which is an easy modern car to drive and has all the standard safety features fitted.
David covers all aspects of driving needed to pass your test within his driving lessons, including town driving, dual carriageways, all weather driving, out-of-town driving and dusk/darkness driving. In addition to driving lessons, David also offers hazard perception and theory test help and advice.
Refresher Driving Lessons
Refresher driving lessons can be useful for drivers who have not driven for some time, have lost confidence following an accident, have developed bad habits since passing their test, want to keep up-to-date with regulations and techniques or improve their confidence, skills or safety when driving.
David offers refresher courses to new and older drivers, with courses tailored to each individual and providing advice and tips on how to improve your driving and help you practise.

Motorway Driving Lessons
Only driving instructors are authorised to give motorway lessons on a provisional licence. Driving on a motorway is very different to driving on other roads and can be very daunting. Whether you have recently passed your driving test, have not driven on motorways often or at all, or are just nervous of driving on motorways you will find David’s motorway driving training to be beneficial.
David offers motorway driving courses tailored to each individual and his professional tuition will ensure you know how to drive safely and considerately on motorways. He will help you increase your confidence and competence and gain the necessary skills and knowledge to deal with the different rules, regulations and signage that applies on motorways. .
